Background Information
Dr. William F. Brownridge
Dr. Brownridge was born in Santa Cruz, and grew up in Vallejo, CA. He
graduated from Sothern Oregon State College in 1975 with a B.A. in Biochemistry.
In 1979 he graduated from the University of Pacific in San Francisco and
began practicing at Hughes Dental Group in September of 1979. Dr. Brownridge
is a member of Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Society, Santa Clara Dental
Society, California Dental Society, American Dental Society, and Delta
Sigma Delta Dental Society. He also attends many hours a year of continuing
education to keep current with todays technology.
Dr. Brownridge lives in Campbell with his wife and three children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, travel and cooking. He also likes to get involved with his childrens' sport (basketball, soccer, baseball, &volleyball) activities.
Dr. James A. Carter
Born in Bend, Oregon, Dr. Carter moved to Palo Alto at age 3. He attended
Palo Alto High School graduating in 1961. After high school, he attended
San Jose State University and the University of Pacific Dental School.
Following graduation from dental school in 1968, Dr. Carter served 3 years
in the U.S. Army with the 47th Detached Medical Division in Fairbanks,
Alaska. Dr. Carter has two children, Matt who is married and lives in
Santa Rosa, and Nicole who lives and works in San Francisco. Wife Melinda
is the owner and manager of All Season Travel in Scotts Valley.
Dr. Carter built a cedar strip canoe in 1996 which he enjoys paddling with friends and also for fly fishing. He also enjoys traveling with his wife to all corners of the world. Other quirky hobbies Dr. Carter pursues are collecting sand from beaches the world over and a collection of "Banana stickers" which now includes over 300 different stickers.
Dr. Joseph W. Rideau
Dr. Joseph Rideau graduated from dental school at UCLA in 1975. He practiced general dentistry in San Frnacisco and Los Angeles for five years. During that time he earned a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) from UCLA in 1978. He completed an orthodontic residency at UCLA in 1982. He has practiced the specialty of Orthodontics since that time in San Jose and Campbell. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Orthodontic Association, and local components. Dr. Rideau has lectured at the dental schools at UCLA and UCSF. Dr. Rideau completes more than 50 hours of continuing education every two years.
Dr. Rideau lives in Los Gatos with his wife and two children. His hobbies include competitive fencing, bicycle riding, and wood working.
Dr. Hilda A. Kanon
Dr. Hilda Kanon graduated from California State University, Stanislaus,
in 1986 earning a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology. Afterwards,
she attended UCLA School of Dentistry earning a degree of Doctor of Dental
Surgery in 1990. Dr. Kanon practiced general dentistry in the central
valley for five years. She moved to San Jose & joined Hughes Dental
Group in 1996. Dr. Kanon is a member of the American Dental Association,
California Dental Association, & Santa Clara Dental Society.
Dr. Kanon lives in San Jose with her husband & her new baby boy. When not at work, she enjoys cooking, walking, reading & of couse... shopping!
Dr. Lee S. Loomer
Dr. Loomer was raised in Orange County, California, and graduated from
California State College at Fullerton in 1969 with a B.A. in Biological
Science. In 1973, he graduated from dental school at the University of
the Pacific in San Frnacisco. Dr. Loomer is a member of the American Dental
Society, California Dental Society and the Santa Clara Dental Society.
A member of Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Society, Dr. Loomer attends over
25 hours of continuing education every year. For twenty five years he
has practiced general dentistry in Campbell - both as an associate of
John A. Hughes, D.D.S., and as a member of the Hughes Dental Group. Dr.
Loomer enjoys his opportunity to serve the families of Campbell - especially
following the lives of his patients and their children as they grow and
prosper.
Dr. Loomer lives in Los Gatos with his wife and four children. His hobbies include camping, running, travel and history.
Dr. Clifford O. Marks
Dr. Marks earned his B.S. degree from U.C. Berkeley and his D.D.S. degree
from University of Pacific School of Dentistry. He associated at various
dental offices prior to joining Hughes Dental Group in 1988. Dr. Marks
especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry and tooth replacement dentistry.
